It may not sound like a very hard pick to make, and it isn’t; I decided to pick the Florida Gators to win the national championship this year. Sporting one of the best defenses in the nation, four seniors who have been to three straight elite eight appearances and the ability to score at will, Florida is an obvious choice.
Also, being in one of the weaker brackets doesn’t hurt either. Syracuse is a weak number three seed and Kansas is a much different team without Joel Embiid on the court, who no one knows if he will return yet.
I think Louisville will return to the championship game but ultimately lose to an overpowering Florida attack but make it a great game and push Florida to their limit.
Look for Michigan State to stay hot and make it to the Final Four as well as Arizona.
Don’t be surprised if Iowa State makes a run to the Final Four and possibly the championship game as well. Iowa State has a great offense that can shot the lights out.
For upsets, I like Harvard to beat Cincinnati and the winner of the Tennessee-Iowa game to upset UMass. Also, Stephen F. Austin to beat VCU is another upset special to keep an eye on.
But in the end, it should be Florida cutting down the nets at the AT&T stadium.
